Did you know that by taking care of your body, you are honoring God? The Lake Deaton's Sports & Recreation Ministry offers many opportunities to help maintain your body moving! We care about your spiritual AND physical health because it is also important to God. You are honoring God by eating healthy, resting plenty and exercising. By keeping your body healthy you are able to move around and do your life's purpose- including God's work.
~1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (NLT) - "Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."
We have a wide range of recreational activities scheduled each week for you to enjoy. These activities are also a great way to invite a friend or neighbor to participate along with you. Scroll down and click on the button for each activity you would like to join.
Pickleball
Friendly competition with other Christians. Join us Tuesday morning, (except the 2nd Tuesday of each month) Thursday evening or Friday morning. Paddles and balls are provided. Just bring court or tennis shoes and come ready to play for a couple of hours.

Bone Builders
Bone Builders is only done standing or sitting on a chair an is great for beginners at any level! Bone Builders is an isometric/strength and weight program based on clinical trials that were done at Tufts University and proven to increase bone density strength and balance. After your first visit or so, you may bring light hand weights for arm exercises and ankle weight for leg exercises. All are welcome to observe. Everyone controls their own level of participation. Cardio Drumming
Cardio classes began meeting at Lake Deaton UMC in the spring of 2021. Cardio Drumming is a fun way to get exercise! The participants use drumsticks, large exercise balls and buckets. Currently two classes are held weekly (except for the 2nd Tuesday of every month):
