Randy Millwood
Director of Discipleship
"And this is all I have learned: God made us plain and simple, but we have made ourselves very complicated!" (Ecclesiastes 7:29. The Good News Translation)
"You must understand that God has not sent His Son into the world to pass sentence upon it, but to save it — through Him!" -John 3:17. The J.B. Phillips New Testament)
Randy Millwood
After a 45-year ministry career that included serving on local church pastoral staff, planting churches, coaching within a regional church network, consulting through a Christian publishing house, and teaching as seminary faculty, Randy Millwood transitioned into a season of “retirement” that remains deeply active. He now invests his time in avocational ministry through soul coaching, ministry consulting, leading spiritual formation retreats, and serving in adjunct faculty roles.
While his ministry experience is extensive, Randy values his roles at home most—being a husband to his high school sweetheart, Adele, a devoted dad to his children, a proud “Pop” to his grandchildren, and the faithful servant of a well-loved Pembroke Welsh Corgi.
Randy finds joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments: relaxing with his wife beside a mountain stream, cheering on his favorite baseball teams—the Braves and the Orioles—enjoying a fun (and often sweaty) day at Disney, experiencing live music and theater, savoring pancakes at any hour, and bringing smiles to children of all ages as Santa Claus.
Through every season, Randy’s love for Christ and His Church has grown deeper. That love fuels his passion to help individuals strengthen their relationship with God and to equip local congregations to disciple others with purpose and intention. These callings continue to guide his service as he seeks to follow Jesus and finish faithful at Lake Deaton as the Director of Discipleship.
