Maria Arias
Communications Specialist

Maria Arias is a passionate creative professional serving at Lake Deaton as the Communications Specialist, where she is deeply committed to using her creative gifts to support ministry, share the Gospel message, and tell the ongoing story of what God is doing through the church. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in Creative Writing, which deepen her calling to blend storytelling, strategic messaging, and visual media in ways that connect people to faith, community, and service. With many years of experience in communications and nonprofit work, Maria views her role not just as a job, but as a ministry—using every platform and opportunity to inspire, encourage, and point others toward Christ.

 

Maria is also a published novelist, having written two novels, with a third currently in progress. Her love for writing extends beyond her professional work and reflects her lifelong passion for storytelling, imagination, and meaningful expression. In addition, she is a dedicated photographer who finds joy in capturing authentic, God-given moments through her lens, preserving stories that reflect beauty, emotion, and purpose.

 

Raised in Camden, New Jersey, in a lively household of eleven siblings, Maria was profoundly shaped by her late mother’s strong faith and unwavering trust in God—foundations that continue to guide her life and purpose today. Now living in Central Florida, Maria treasures time with her four accomplished daughters and her precious grandchildren, who remain her greatest joy! 

 

On beautiful days, Maria enjoys removing the top and doors off her Jeep Wrangler and heading to the beach, where she finds peace and inspiration in Florida’s sunrises and sunsets.
