Kari Diaz
Director of Connections
~Matthew 5:16
Jesus tells his disciples: "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
Kari Diaz
Kari Diaz joined the staff at Lake Deaton United Methodist Church as the Director of Connections & Communications. Her vision is for congregants at Lake Deaton to seek and discover how Jesus inspires them to "shine their light."
Prior to joining the Lake Deaton UMC team, Kari Diaz has had a wide variety of life experiences. She spent almost 30 years in education as a teacher, then as a middle school counselor (think adolescent "drama & trauma!") Retiring early left the door open for a new adventure where Kari worked with the CDC on the Ebola Response at O'Hare International Airport, followed by work on the Ziki Response. It was fascinating, fast-paced response work.
Kari most enjoys time with her three children: Abigail, Eleanor, and Daniel. They are her heart. She also enjoys being with her best girlfriends and looks forward to any time together. Always a time of love and laughter. Kari loves being active - dragon boat padding, pickleball, beach tennis, surfing, walking her pup, Gertrude, or perfecting her underwater headstands.
A ridiculously fun fact about Kari is that she has seen Jimmy Buffett in concert well over twenty times, across four states.
