Jan McCoy
Director of Sonrise Respite
~Isaiah 43:19(NIV)
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."
Jan McCoy
Jan McCoy was originally from Iowa but has lived in Florida for 37 years, first on Merritt Island and in The Villages for the past 14 years. She and her husband Dave were part of the original planning group to build Lake Deaton UMC, and she has been involved in numerous ministries since the beginning of the church. Her background is in nursing, and she continues her passion for caring for the less fortunate as the Director of the Sonrise Dementia Respite program that meets every Monday at the church.
She was also co-chairman of the Coleman Oaks Thrift Store & Coffee Shop planning committee and continues to volunteer as a member of the thrift store team.
Her favorite ‘fun’ activity is singing, and she is a member of the LD Chancel Choir, The Villages Pops Chorus and the New Pops Chorus Folksingers. She and Dave have been married for 59 years and have two children, Marsha and Mark.
