About the event

Attention all ladies! The Bloom Women’s Retreat will be held February 24, 2024 from 9am to 2pm. Guest speaker for the event is Lucinda Nelson, co-founder of Listen, Love, Pray Foundation from Union Bridge, Maryland. Her mission is to bring the love of God and the healing power of Jesus to all people.

In addition to Lucinda’s spirit-filled presentation, there will be many opportunities for guided breakout sessions (see below): opportunity to explore Listen Love Pray strategies, card making, line dancing, bracelet making, hand massage, and making visors to benefit Wildwood Elementary School students. If a prayer garden, a coloring station, or a photo booth sounds interesting, we have those too.

As always, this retreat is open to anyone in need of spiritual refreshment and warm fellowship. Registration is required. A $40 fee covers a light breakfast and lunch, as well as all the materials needed for the day. Join us!

Bloom Women’s Retreat – February 24, 2024

BREAKOUT SESSIONS

PLEASE NOTE: To allow as many as possible to experience each breakout session, please take part in any of the following sessions one time only. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

“Listen, Love, Pray” Exercise (Classroom 1 – 36 per session) – Whether you feel like a beginner in prayer, or a seasoned “warrior,” there is always more to discover about our wonderful God. “Listen, Love, Pray” breakout sessions will allow time and space for a deeper dive into each of the 3 main talks. This will be a safe place to learn, discuss, and practice how to more effectively listen, love, and pray with the purpose of being filled to overflowing with His goodness.

Participants will enjoy a combination of interactive discussion, personal ministry, and a “Q and A” portion. We are expectant that as our willing hearts step into the healing love of Jesus, each one will receive a unique blessing of healing, comfort, strength, faith, hope, or revelation. Lucinda Nelson, Judy Winfield, and Nancy Wilson, Facilitators.

Card Making (Classroom 2 – 30 per session) – Make a card to keep or to send to someone. This will be a simple card that is easy to make yet will look beautiful. A nice reminder of the retreat. Teresa Burgess, Facilitator.

Hand Massage Blessing (Classroom 3 – 20 per session) – Enjoy the comfort and relaxation of a personal hand massage while also receiving a special blessing. Cris Bootle, Gail Combes, Edna Maria Popko, Gayle Roberts, and Judy Tonka, Facilitators.

Seed Wrap Bracelet Craft (Classroom 4 – 40 per session) – Let your creativity flow…. Thread 200 beautiful glass seed beads onto memory wire to make a stunning wrap bracelet for yourself or a loved one!  Choose from a variety of gorgeous bead colors - express yourself! Reading glasses suggested. Mary Kay Fritts, Facilitator.

Line Dancing (Classroom 5 - 20 per session) – Want to stay fit without realizing you are exercising? Want to dance in a group without needing a partner? Come join us and learn some Level 1 dances set to contemporary Christian music.  No prior line dance experience needed. For your safety, please wear shoes that will stay on your feet.  Sneakers are perfect.  Sandals with a strap across the back are OK.  No flip-flops, please. Karen Maurey, Facilitator.

Visor Outreach Project to Benefit Wildwood Elementary (Classroom 6 – 32 per session) – As a service project, we will be making 190 "Inch Worm" visors for the kindergarten and 1st graders at the Wildwood schools. We will glue on pompoms and antennae to make an inchworm, then glue on the letters "READ" which are made from glitter foam. Gemma Benjamin, Facilitator.

Bloom Photo Booth (Narthex) – Stop by our theme inspired photo booth to capture the moment from the 2024 Listen, Love, Pray Retreat! Our Bloom staff will be available to take pictures of you and your friends using your phone, so you can take your memories home with you.

Prayer Garden (Outside Garden) – Self Guided Tour – You are invited to take a few minutes to walk through our beautiful Butterfly and Prayer Garden behind the church. You will find cards near the east exit of the church. Please follow the directions on the card as you walk to each station marked throughout the garden. Reflect and pray as you experience this peaceful gift from God.

Coloring Stations (Narthex Across from Sobremesa Café) – Self Guided – This is a relaxing time to use the “Scripture Coloring” cards provided in the Lobby area to visit with a friend and color a beautiful card to give to someone or take home as a reminder of God’s never-ending love for you.
