We would love to have you become part of one of our worship teams.  We have many areas where you can volunteer.  Training is provided.  Click below to find out more.

  • Ushers serve on a team at the service of their choice.  The teams serve on a rotating basis.  Ushers are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to their assigned service time.  They greet people as they enter the worship area, assist with seating, collect offerings and direct congregants to communion stations.

  • Greeters are assigned to a church entrance, arriving 30 minutes before the service starts.  Greeters should have a sense of radical hospitality and service to others.  A warm smile, friendly hello and the ability to help when questions are asked are a must.  Training is provided for new greeters, which in the form of mentoring with seasoned greeters. 


    Our 9am greeter team is currently full.  Please consider volunteering in other areas.  Thank you.

  • Communion stewards are responsible for preparing communion elements (bread and cup) used in our worship services, setting up the communion stations, and cleaning up each station after the service. Persons generally work in teams. It is a special blessing to prepare the Lord’s Table for our congregants and guests.  During this COVID period when individuals bring their elements, the preparation is limited to preparing elements for the altar and preparing the small cups available on the welcome tables in the narthex for guests to pick up.

  • The camera operator controls all cameras to feed video into the worship service and our Live Feed broadcast.  The operator also controls the video switcher, selecting the appropriate input to be displayed.  This is done while seated in the "best seat in the house".  No computer knowledge required and full training is provided.  Must be able to climb stairs.

  • The ProPresenter Operator works closely with the Camara Operator/Video Switcher.  They use the ProPresenter program to advance visual aids to be displayed during worship.  This is done using a mouse or keyboard, all while seated in the "best seat in the house".  No computer knowledge is required and full training is provided.  Must be able to climb stairs.

  • Our focus is to provide safe and orderly flow of traffic while entering and exiting the church property.  The first priority is pedestrians.  Volunteers arrive 20 minutes prior to the services, must be able to stand in the sun for an extended time period and will be trained on using a walkie talkie.  This team sometimes provides traffic control at special events.

  • The focus of our Golf Cart Team is to assist anyone needing help in gaining safe and timely access to and from the church.  Drivers should be constantly aware of those needing assistance.  Volunteers arrive 20 minutes prior to the services and must complete a New Drivers Form and have a copy of their drivers license on file in the main office.

  • This team helps prepare our worship space to be welcoming and inspiring each week. The worship space décor changes with various liturgical seasons like Advent, Christmas, Lent,  Easter, and Pentecost.  The space is also prepared for special worship themes. Working with others as a team, we need people with an artistic flair, but also workers to help with many tasks, all having the prerequisite for serving and a desire to honor God through worship!

  • The worship band serves at the 5:00 Saturday and 9:00 Sunday Blended services.  We strive to be relevant to modern worship trends and lead our congregation in passionate worship of our God. If you play acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, or drums and are interested in joining the worship band, please fill out the form below.  We will contact you regarding the instrument you play.

  • The Lake Deaton UMC Choir sings at our 10:30 Traditional service. Each week, the choir provides an anthem to create a moment of worship and reflection for our congregants. The choir rehearses weekly through the fall, winter, and spring.

  • Our worship dance team, Devotion in Motion, choreographs to uplifting and inspirational music. Devotion in Motion serves at all of our weekend services once or twice a quarter, many times in correlation with holy days.
