  • Refreshment Committee

    The Refreshment Committee is responsible for ensuring Coffee and Cookies are available at the Refreshment Counter.  Usually assigned once a month before one service.  Looking for volunteers who are friendly, who can restock the cookie tray and keep the coffee flowing.

  • Camera Operator/Video Switcher

    The camera operator controls all cameras to feed video into the worship service and our Live Feed broadcast.  The operator also controls the video switcher, selecting the appropriate input to be displayed.  This is done while seated in the "best seat in the house".  No computer knowledge required and full training is provided.  Must be able to climb stairs.

  • ProPresenter Operator

    The ProPresenter Operator works closely with the Camara Operator/Video Switcher.  They use the ProPresenter program to advance visual aids to be displayed during worship.  This is done using a mouse or keyboard, all while seated in the "best seat in the house".  No computer knowledge is required and full training is provided.  Must be able to climb stairs.

  • Usher

    Ushers serve on a team at the service of their choice.  The teams serve on a rotating basis, such as the even numbered or odd numbered months.  Ushers are asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to their assigned service time.  They greet people as they enter the worship area, assist with seating, collecting offering and directing congregants to communion stations.

  • Golf Cart Driver

    The focus of our Golf Cart Ministry is to assist anyone needing help in gaining safe and timely access to and from the church.  Drivers should be constantly aware of those needing assistance.  Volunteers arrive 20 minutes prior to the services and must complete a New Drivers Form and have a copy of their drivers license on file in the main office.

  • Ground Traffic Control

    Our focus is to provide safe and orderly flow of traffic while entering and exiting the church property.  The first priority is pedestrians.  Volunteers arrive 20 minutes prior to the services and must be able to stand in the sun for an extended time period and will be trained on using a walkie talkie.  This team sometimes provides traffic control at special events.

  • Greeters

    Greeters are assigned to a church entrance and serve twice a month, arriving 30 minutes before the service starts.  Greeters should have a sense of radical hospitality and service to others.  A warm smile, friendly hello and the ability to help when questions are asked is a must.  Training is provided for new greeters in the form of mentoring with seasoned greeters.

  • Umbrella Cheer

    Umbrella Cheer volunteers interact with congregants and the public with warmth and hospitality as they make their way into the building.  They greet people as they are being dropped off and assist those exiting their vehicles in the handicapped spots.  This can include opening doors, assisting with walkers and, of course, providing umbrella service as needed.  Volunteers on this team can serve weekly to once a month.

  • First Time Visitor Team

    Our First Time Visitor Team provide a warm welcome to first time visitors to Lake Deaton.  They must provide their own transportation and navigation to visitors home.  Training is provided.  They usually only serve once a month.

  • Discover Lake Deaton Team

    Team members help to welcome visitors to Lake Deaton.  They help to set up the Discover Lake Deaton room, welcome participants after each church service, give a tour of the building, answer questions, provide a light dessert and collect attendance.  The team helps on the first Sunday of each month.  Training is provided.
