  • Epic of Eden: Understanding the Old Testament

    September 15th - November 17th   |   6:00 - 7:30pm

    Does your knowledge of the Old Testament feel like a grab bag of people, books, events, and ideas? How many times have you resolved to really understand the OT? 

    This class will organize your understanding of the Old Testament and renew your enthusiasm for studying the Bible as a whole. Taught by Don Argus & Bob Jorden.

  • How to Read the Bible

    Learn how to read the Bible in a two week session with fun and engaging lessons. Taught by Jim Divine.

  • Invitation to Romans

    September 15th - November 17th   |   6:00 - 7:15pm (no class 9/22 or 10/27) 


    This 8 session course, taught by Alan Stone, is based on the Disciple Bible Study. This study allows you to have an interpretive conversation with the text itself. Key themes include: Paul's emphasis on communal salvation, the centrality of God's righteousness, the relationship between Jews & Gentiles, and the relationship of both to God. Each session allows you to expand your understanding of Paul's message through small group discussions & facilitated lectures by Biblical scholars.

  • Epic of Eden: Jonah

    September 15th - November 3rd   |   6:00 - 7:30pm

    Join Pastor Kristyne for a walk through the Book of Jonah with Sandra Richter. When most people think about the book of Jonah, they think about a children's story. Others think about a story that they have heard so many times, there couldn't possibly be anything new to learn. Well, strap in, because this study is designed to prove all these assumptions wrong! Perfect for all levels of Bible learners.

  • Living with Grief

    September 15th - October 20th   |   6:00 - 7:30pm

    Grief is experienced in so many ways - physical, emotional & spiritual. One needs a place to recognize that these reactions are part of the journey of grief. Being with other grieving people can reaffirm that one is not going crazy. While every loss is unique, through support groups one can bask in the support of others who have experienced loss & understand. Come & experience healing as we enter into discussion & Biblical understanding of grief with Pastor Loida.

    This two week course, with Jim Divine, teaches you to write and share your faith story with others.

  • Experiencing the Father's Embrace - Online via Zoom

    September 15th - November 17th   |   7:00 - 8:00pm

    Do you sometimes feel that God is distant? Do you know in your brain that He loves you, but don't feel that personal love in your heart? Come along on a journey to dive into Papa's love for you - He's eagerly waiting! Taught by Kris Schonewolf.

  • Card Making

    Offered two times:

    1) October 6th, 3:00 p.m.

    2) November 3rd, 3:00 p.m. 

    Join us in making cards to meet the daily needs of our congregation and their families! These cards are used by the Lake Deaton UMC Care Department. Please bring your own scissors and adhesive to class.

  • Advent Study: Not a Silent Night

    Imagine Jesus from Mary's point of view - proud of her son, in awe of his gifts & mission, guided by love for him as a person and so much more. Let us embark with Adam Hamilton to see Jesus' life from Mary's perspective. Taught by Loida Divine.
